Three Typical Plumbing Systems

Common Plumbing Systems
When it comes to plumbing, the majority of San Diegans choose the tried-and-true conventional kind.

A series of pipes and couplings form the backbone of this system, which carries water from the source to the many points of usage throughout your house.

Once water enters your home from the main water line, it travels via a network of pipes to different fixtures, including sinks, showers, and toilets.

Drainage systems, also a part of conventional plumbing, are used to collect wastewater and flush it out of the house and into the municipal sewage system.

Plumbing Systems Using Copper Pipe or PEX Tubing

Copper piping has been in use, I believe, since the mid-1950s. And was used primarily for water lines. The other option was galvanized piping.

PEX plumbing is gaining popularity in the San Diego area. Tubing made from cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) is a resilient and adaptable material often used in plumbing systems.

This tubing is used in PEX plumbing systems to carry water from your water supply to your plumbing fittings. PEX plumbing is widely used because it is cheaper and simpler to set up than other plumbing methods.

Waste Disposal Systems (DWV)
A DWV plumbing system installed in your house is an excellent way to safely remove all your wastewater and sewage gasses.

The pipes in this system are linked to your home’s drainage system and lead outdoors for ventilation. The DWV system guarantees that wastewater is directed away from your house and that sewage gases do not enter your home.

Despite the widespread use of conventional plumbing in San Diego, PEX plumbing is quickly gaining popularity.

A specific DWV plumbing system is required for adequate wastewater and sewer gas removal.

Gas Line System

Both metal and plastic piping is used to supply a house or apartment. A black pipe system is used for a metal gas line.
