Unfortunately, there is no short cut to fixing a pinhole leak well that is. So that it last’s a long time. I have seen people use a copper pipe and fix it with compression couplings. But that is not a permanent solution.

Because it can start leaking since Water Pressure can go higher at night time because of less usage.
Although I have used a temporary fix on exterior lines to see how they would hold up. And I had it last several months or more but the problem is it could give and start leaking.

A temporary fix is just placing a patch (Like to patch bicycles with) and putting a couple of clamps to secure (Stainless steel clamps).

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEMPORARY TRICK. But Like I said this can leak.

Fixing The Water Pressurized Copper Piping

Especially since it’s under constant water pressure.
To fix it properly, you have to cut the pipe out and insert a couple of copper couplings if it’s in a straight line.

That would be a slip coupling and a regular coupling. And if the pipe is corroded around the pipe. I would recommend changing it if it’s accessible. Or Change as much as possible.

As I said, the BEST Thing to do is replace a section of pipe.

With new copper pipe and fittings. If you don’t have the money, maybe go to a Home Depot and ask them what to do. Take a couple of pictures of the work to show them.

Copper Piping (Why, I Prefer Copper Piping over Pex)

Fixing or replacing copper piping is something I have always done well for 40 years.

I always prefer copper piping over any other type of material.

In the 1980s, I was working for plumbing companies.

And they would use Quest, an Upgrade to Pex plumbing (Plastic Piping).

Anyways to make a long story short. They began to have leaks continuously.

So much so that they changed all the Quest and replaced it with copper piping.

Now like I said, I prefer to use Copper piping. Or this is my personal preference for any Water Pressurized Piping.

Because many plumbers say that it is fast, easy, and inexpensive to install (Pex Plastic Piping rather than copper piping).

It is always recommended for a professional to do the work.
