Qualifying to be A Professional Plumber
If you are interested in plumbing, I would suggest attending plumbing school. The classes are free. The P.H.C.C. Well, except for the code book. And showing up to classes.
Plumbers install and maintain the pipes that transport gas, water, and waste to homes and businesses. Plumbers also installed appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, and plumbing items like bathtubs, toilets, and sinks.
But I think the best quality is getting along with people, in other words, learning people skills.
One of the best books I have ever read besides God’s Holy Word. It is called How To Win Friends and Influence People By Dale Carnegie.
Why You Don’t Want To Be A Plumber
Most plumbers receive their training through internships, combining classroom instruction with paid on-the-job training. Internship programs are sponsored by The P.H.C.C. and last for two years.
It’s hard work at times. Crawling underneath houses. And when you start out you are a trainee for several years.
A high school or equivalency diploma must be at least 18 years of age to be accepted into the program.
Benefits of Being a Plumber
Maybe you may think that you can make a million dollars? Well you can if you branch out and become a big plumbing company.
But let’s put it this way I have always been blessed to have such a job where let’s say sometimes I might make 500.+ or more in a day or sometimes in a few hours.
And if I don’t feel like working that day if I don’t have any commitments I just take the day off. Well but I work for myself.
To me that was okay
.
But not really just about the money. But when I am working I have more freedom to do as l like. I usually work two or three days a week now after 40 years of working in plumbing.
But also being working outside and talking to people. And working with your hands to fix stuff. I have always liked all this about plumbing.
