Why is the ‘hot’ on the left, ‘cold’ on the right

My Response To The Question:

Put in Simple Terms. It’s always better or easier when there are standards.

For instance, cold is on the right, and hot is on the left. It is a Basic standard for setting water supply outlets.

Could you imagine if there was no organization? Our standard method of setting the cold and hot outlets for the water?

Let’s say you had a cold on the left side of a two-handle faucet. And vice versa the hot on the right side.

Without a set standard or method of doing things, you could actually end up with two colds and or two hots, etc.

Because this doesn’t cause confusion but rather with standards, there is an organized method of doing things.

Or, for that matter, even a Single handle, the cold is usually to the right, and the hot is usually to the left that is if installed properly.
